Make a donation to the Port Arthur Conservation Fund
The Port Arthur Historic Sites do not generate enough money from tourism operations to fully fund the extensive conservation program at all three of our Sites. All surplus funds are reinvested back into the Site but there is still a significant shortfall. In order to continue to conserve our three World Heritage Sites we need your help.
We have established the Port Arthur Conservation Fund to enable organisations and individuals to provide financial contributions to the ongoing management of the Historic Sites.
Donations of $2.00 and over are tax deductible.
Supporting the Fund could be a wonderful way for a family to honour an ancestor who was at Port Arthur, the Cascades Female Factory, or the Coal Mines and to celebrate our convict heritage.
Download a donation form and post or fax it to us, or ask for a form at the Visitor Centre.
Consider donating through the Cultural Gifts Program
The Cultural Gifts Program is a Commonwealth Government program that provides tax incentives to encourage gifts of culturally significant items from private collections to public art galleries, museums, libraries and archives.
If you have an item or items that you feel might be a valuable addition to our collections, please contact our Heritage Programs Manager to discuss the possibility of donating it under this program.
Unfortunately we are not able to accept all offers of items for our collections. Please see our Collections page for more details.
