Display of Preliminary Documentation for the Cascades Female Factory History and Interpretation Centre (EPBC Ref 2020/8662)

The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA) is planning the construction of a new History and Interpretation Centre (HIC) at the Cascades Female Factory Historic Site (the CFF). 

The project has been determined to be a controlled action (EPBC 2020/8662) under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The controlling provisions under the EPBC Act are World Heritage properties (Sections 12 & 15A) and National Heritage places (Sections 15B & 15C).

The Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment has advised the project will be assessed by preliminary documentation. The preliminary documentation was published from 2 November 2020 to 13 November 2020 in accordance with section 95A (4) of the EPBC Act. No comments were received in response to that invitation to comment.

This notice is published in accordance with Section 95B (4) of the EPBC Act.
