The Discovery Boxes give your students the first-hand experience of the convict system, without leaving the classroom. This resource includes two traveling boxes filled with authentic convict artefacts, photos, maps, books, information and a list of additional items that relate to both Port Arthur and Cascades Female Factory. A teaching pack is also included.
The Discovery Boxes are available to Tasmanian schools and can be borrowed free of charge for 2–4 weeks.
Boxes must be collected (no postage or shipping available) from either the Port Arthur Historic Site or the Cascades Female Factory Site in South Hobart.
Bookings are essential. The Discovery Boxes are very popular, so please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
